Publication Ethics

Adhering to ethical guidelines is essential for maintaining high standards in scientific publications, fostering public trust in scientific findings, and ensuring authors receive appropriate recognition for their contributions. Consequently, the following practices should be avoided:

Data Falsification and Fabrication: Data falsification involves presenting data that was never actually collected, while data fabrication entails altering genuine data. Authors who engage in these practices may face penalties and their work may be retracted.

Plagiarism: Plagiarism is the act of using others' work or ideas without giving proper credit. This includes reproducing text from prior publications. Manuscripts with significant similarities to existing work may be rejected, and published articles could be subject to correction or retraction.

Submitting the Same Manuscript to Multiple Journals: It is unacceptable to submit the same manuscript to several journals at the same time. This practice wastes the time of peer reviewers and editors and can harm the reputations of both the authors and the journals. Authors found doing this may face sanctions.

Over-Publication: Publishing numerous articles on related topics based on similar research ideas may be permissible in Inspiration: Jurnal Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi. However, authors are encouraged to consolidate related research into a single, comprehensive manuscript.

Editors and Reviewers: Editors and reviewers should refrain from reviewing submissions where they have a personal connection with the authors or should disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may affect their impartiality.

Sanctions: Possible sanctions by Inspiration: Jurnal Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi include rejecting manuscripts, banning individuals from serving as editors or reviewers, prohibiting manuscript submissions for a period determined by the editorial board based on the severity of the violation, and other penalties for more serious breaches of ethics.

Correction and Retraction Procedures: The publisher will address any errors in published articles by consulting with the editor and the authors' institutions. Corrections can be issued through Erratum, and authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts. If misconduct is evident, it may be necessary to retract the article following COPE Retraction Guidelines.
